a first for helena

Lena had been waiting all winter for this trip.  The snow finally melted low enough for them to take off for a night.  Jim scheduled their trip for the previous weekend but had to push it back a week due to weather.  So when the time finally came to pack up, she was beyond ready and excited.

They drove to the lower Sierras, then hiked in about 1.5 miles to the campsite.  Jim purposefully chose an easy, short hike & stayed only one night, not knowing how Len would do; he later told me she could've hiked another couple miles easy and stayed another night.  =)  He now knows she can handle a solid hiking weekend!

Here are the long awaited pics.  Enjoy!

Getting a good start.

Packs on and ready to go!

The trail they hiked in on the right of the river.

This is a small beach where they fished at on the way in.

Break time!!!

So, this is before Helena had fun sliding down a big rock...

...during...

...and after.  Nice.

We all collect heart shaped rocks so when Len found this heart shaped piece of wood, she thought of me. Unfortunately, it broke before they came home.  =(

A view from near their campsite.  Incredible, huh?

SWEETNESS.  LOVE.  DELICIOUSNESS.  GIMME!  GIMME!  GIMME!

Buggy thought this was the most super-cool-secrect-cave.  =)

Dinner time.  And no, that's not the can it came in.  ...I asked also.

Something found.

Starbucks, as always.  Love those Cafe Viva packets.

Seriously.  How dang cute is that!!!

Heading out...

Check out her shoes!!!  Stinkin' HILARIOUS!!!
That is so Helena.
