halloween night

Although we don't officially celebrate Halloween, we do enjoy some of the fun traditions ...specifically dressing up and candy.  No trick-or-treating...but carnival?  Yes.  Definitely yes.

We go to this little church 5 minutes away from here that has a Family Fall Carnival.  They put this on for anyone...and it's free.  That's right.  Free.  Gotta love it.

It's great.  Carnival games with fun Bible story names like Fiery Furnace (3 youths in the fire), Slay the Giant (David and Goliath), and the list goes on.  Christian Music (mostly.  And if it's not, it's Taylor Swift's and other fun songs that are benign).  Costume contests.  Coffee for $ .50.  Bottled water for the same.  Nachos and other carnival foods for a buck.  You can't beat this rinky-dink carnival.  It's awesome and we love it.

We meet the Strategos Families there and let the kids run wild.  The kids come home with a bag 1/2 full of candy and completely amped.  And then they have to go to bed.  =)
