ANYWAYS...we had our 2nd annual 4th of July party here and had soooo much fun! This year there were almost 60 people (half of which were kids!), a jump from about 40 last year. We all hung out for about the first hour, the kids swam or played in the back yard and then we ate. We provided the meat, drinks, & homemade ice cream while everyone else brought a sidedish or dessert. Our food table was overflowing and by the time we were done with it, the food was almost gone. After dinner, we put on our game faces and played some games...3-Legged Race, Water Balloon Toss, Dress-Up Relay, Don't Take My Pin! (Just picture that bridal shower game of collecting as many pins as you can--on steroids and played with cloths pins--total chaos!), and the new and already infamous game, The Pit Spit. When the games were done, we pulled out the desserts and fireworks and went to town on both.
After the last person left at 12 midnight, we crawled in bed smiling and giggling as we recalled the evening.
Ah, I wish we could have been there! We missed you at church too. See you next time we visit.
